Lorry Driver Caught Reading on the Motorway
A lorry driver was caught reading with both hands while on the motorway. According to Cheshire Police, the driver had both hands off the wheel when the motorbike officer saw him.

Issuing a warning to other drivers, an officer form the force stated that the results of a crash involving an HGV could be “devastating”.

They also informed their followers on social media that the driver was stopped and issued with a TOR for the offence.

A TOR is a traffic offence report and is issued by an officer when they have reason to believe you may have committed a specified road traffic-related offence.

The driver will likely be contacted by Cheshire Police at a later date.

In a post on Twitter, a spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: “This driver was seen reading from notes in both hands whilst on the M56 (image from bike camera).

“The driver was stopped and issued a TOR.

“The consequences of a collision could be devastating.

“It’s not worth putting your or other road users lives at risk.
